5 star Friday - Story
Gonzaga fan from Memphis, TN. Grew up in a big basketball family so loved the game early. They played in the pyramid (old Memphis tigers arena) in 2001 for the ncaa tournament when I was 7 and I just fell in love with the program. Grew up with Adam Morrison as my basketball hero per say. Stayed up watching wcc games at 11 pm our time or waiting until midnight and seeing the great debut of Kevin pangos. Always got the question of “what made you be a fan of them” being so far away from Spokane. Gonzaga basketball for as long as I can remember (as an big sports fan overall and college basketball fan) is what I look forward to the most each year. I live 1200 miles away from a place I’ve never been to but fell in love with this tiny school that has gradually grown into a powerhouse and how it’s not just that but a true family feel throughout the program. Guys like my favorite Zag ever in josh Perkins make Gonzaga what it is. I’m just thankful that I went to that game back in 2001 and can say im proud Gonzaga fan all the way over here in south east. Even when going about getting married in 2020 right before the pandemic, my wife picked a date before March madness. I couldn’t miss watching the zags. I haven’t been able to go to a game in The Kennel yet but hope to one day. Whenever they play over in my area I’m there. I love Gonzaga and I can’t wait for next season now.

Steven is the most knowledgeable man on the planet when it comes to Gonzaga basketball. He offers real insight instead of the generic nationals media sound bites.
