A fascinating deep dive
When an episode about the Lolita movie from the 60s popped up on Jamies other podcast The Bechdel Cast, I was hesitant to listen at first. Wasn’t the story of Lolita a creepy, romanticised depiction of a pedophile and his ‘doomed love’? But when I finally gave it a shot I was surprised to learn that the source material was vastly different from the movies and the general cultural perception of it. That fascinated me, and I’m so excited to hear this deep dive! I’ve been a fan of Jamie for a few years now, and I definitely recommend giving her other podcasts a listen too ❤️
