So glad this story is being told
For a long time, I only knew Joan Bennett from Little Women, Father of the Bride, and wait for it…Suspiria! Last year I watched The Woman in the Window for the first time on Criterion. Around this time, I also started watching films by Max Ophuls, and sought out The Reckless Moment on YouTube. This movie probably features my favorite Bennett performance, though I’ve still seen very few. On Wikipedia, it does mention this 1951 scandal, but there was much more I could find about it. From what I could find, it certainly seemed like something out of a film noir that she could’ve starred in, as the intro to the episode states. I’m so eager to learn more about Bennett overall. Wanger is definitely an interesting character too, and it’s great to get more background on him. The first episode was great and I’m so excited for more.

What a woman! What a life story. Couldn’t put it down. Thank you.

It’s very enjoyable but what wrecks this for me is the voice they give Joan Bennett through out . They make her sound like she is a 62 year old grandmother instead of a young women in her 20’s and thirties.. comical

Oof
Wooden narration and a loose respect for historical fact, served with a hot heapin’ side of leftover #metoo gravy! What’s not to love?
