We round off our first Spooktober with another guest episode, this time with Future Islands' William Cashion, our close personal friend. He brings on the beyond-campy slasher flick Slumber Party Massacre II (1987) as something he thinks Enoch will love and Quinton will hate. Will they? Won't they? "Extra-terrestrial attack" is the theme on your favorite movie podcast this week. Maybe not the most Spooktober-y theme we could've chosen but you know, it's something. The Thing (1982), which Quinton thought Enoch would love, that's pretty spooky, right? Independence Day (1996), which Enoch thought Quinton would hate, I'll admit is a little loose for being Spooktober. But I guess it's our Fourth-of-July-in-Spooktober celebration? Whatever, dude. Spooktacular guest and horror fanatic Devon Tuttle comes on to LIOHIYGLI as our first "split the room" guest, where one movie, assigned by the guest, is intended to be a movie one host loves and the other hates. Devon is attempting to split the room by recommending the Ken Russell film The Lair of the White Worm (1988), which he thinks Quinton will love and Enoch will hate.

This episode's a little different. In our first guest episode on LIOHIYGLI, we welcome John "Curly" Kirtley to shout the praises of Paul Schneider, David Gordon Green, and Bust-Ass in a special "RE:" rebuttal episode covering All the Real Girls once again.

We take a gamble with this week's theme on the podcast (Love It or Hate It, You Gotta Love It). The theme is "the gambler", and the movies are When We Were Kings (1996), which Enoch thought Quinton would love, and Uncut Gems (2019), which Quinton thought Enoch would hate. Roll the dice and take a chance on this episode!

This week, LIOHIYGLI takes it down South to rural Texas and the mountains of North Carolina. Quinton thought Enoch would love the beloved 80's classic, Paris, Texas (1984), and Enoch thought Quinton would hate the small town by indie darlings All the Real Girls (2003), starring and cowritten by Paul Schneider.

This week, we're invading your home ... through the airwaves that it is. It's a "home invasion"-themed episode of LIOHIYGL: Enoch thought Quinton would love In Cold Blood (1967) based on the true crime novel that invented the genre, and Quinton though Enoch would hate Austrian director Michael Haneke's only English language picture, the American remake of his own film: Funny Games (2007).

On this episode of Love It or Hate It, You Gotta Love It, Enoch and Quinton go on a family vacation, where they meet Ricky Baker and Hec (some sort of "Crocodile Dundee-type fella") and then a 6'0" foot tall anthropomorphic cat. That's right this week, Quinton assigned Enoch Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) as a sweet & action-packed tale of the New Zealand bush that he would love, and Enoch assigned The Cat in the Hat (2003) as a horrible mistake of a film that Quinton would hate.

Love It or Hate It, You Gotta Love It? More like Woof It or Bark It, You've Gotta Arf It for this doggy-dog episode. That's right, we're covering films centering man's best friend. For Quinton, Enoch recommends the Christopher Guest mocking documentary Best in Show (2000), and for Enoch, Quinton recommends the bleak dark comedy Wiener-Dog (2016) as something he'll hate. The movies this week are American Graffiti (1973), which Quinton though Enoch would love, and Demolition Man (1993) which Enoch thought Quinton would hate, and both, as an added bonus follow the "theme" for this week's assignments "one last hurrah." Enoch and Quinton will be sure to tickle your funnybone with this home run of an episode. That's right, Quinton thought Enoch would love Tickled (2016), and Enoch thought Quinton would hate Rookie of the Year (1993). Did they knock it out of the park? Or was it a "real hot stinker"?
