“I like the host of this show and really want to like the show itself, but every time I tune into an episode I find myself getting aggravated. Mainly the problem is the show can’t decide if it’s for people who are dating who want to hear how it’s going for other people, or voyeurs in long-term relationships. I’m in the former category and resent the curiosity of the latter. So when the host does things like pause to explain what “Bumble” is, or how it works, to all the shut-ins listening I tune out. Also it seems like, in trying to be middle of the road and “for everybody!” The topics can be just…uninteresting. Take, at this writing, the first episode of a season supposedly about rule breaking. The whole episode is about a journalist friend getting married and (gasp!)taking her husband’s last name. Not what her friends (the host included) expected. That’s rule breaking? That’s like having a podcast about your friend’s new haircut. Not tweet-worthy much less podcast-worthy.”
