#30 - The scientist-entrepreneur-investor - Omri Amirav-Drory is looking for magic
Listen now
Description
Omri had a successful Ph.D. in biochemistry at Tel-Aviv University, followed by ... naturally ... a postdoc. During his postdoc in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Stanford University school of medicine, he realized, ACADEMIA IS NOT FOR ME. He followed this lead, founded a company in the realm of tech-bio, sold a company, and hadn't stopped getting involved and leading idea-into-success stories on the investment side. Omri believes in the Scientist - CEO / Scientist - Entrepreneur, and as an investor supports researchers in bringing academia's magic to market. Omri Amirav-Drory is a venture partner at NFX Bio. Omri founded Genome Compiler, which developed software for genetic engineers and molecular and synthetic biologists, and led it to a successful acquisition by Twist Bioscience. Currently, he is the head of NFX Bio, a fund dedicated to Scientist-Founders that supports them in learning how to be entrepreneurs, focusing on innovation in healing, feeding and providing for people.
