Mixed feelings
Listen to Leo “Break time is over!” Laporte, Andy “You’re welcome! - however!” Ihnatko, Rene “So super salty” Ritchie and Alex “The thing is is that” Lindsay talk about the Apple news, rumours and speculation every week. I have mostly found the show to be very informative and reasonably entertaining, but also quite annoying at times. I think I have watched every episode, and there are nearly 800 now! Once I even visited the TWIT studios and watched as they recorded MacBreak Weekly and a couple of other podcasts. It’s been part of my weekly routine for years to watch each new episode on Wednesday evening. Partly out of habit and because I hadn’t found an alternative. Now I have, kind of, and I may stop watching this podcast. I’m interested in everything related to Apple, and I want to hear the perspectives of a group of people who are knowledgeable about what’s going on inside and around Apple. In this regard I think they succeed, and I enjoy that part of it. There are mainly two things I find annoying. Quite often I disagree with some of their opinions, especially Leo‘s and Andy’s. They are entitled to their own, and usually I understand where they are coming from, but when they really get passionate about a view which is the opposite of mine and start hammering it down, this can really make me angry. Leo can also irritate me sometimes because of his (in my opinion) negativity, cynicism, doubt etc. Many times he just doesn’t get something Apple is doing or a new product, says no one is going to buy it etc., and then it becomes a huge hit, at which point he may finally change his mind. Occasionally I think I also see other parts of his personality that I don’t like, but it’s hard to put my finger on it exactly. Maybe it’s just satire and irony and a matter of taste. But search for his name online, and you’re going to find a lot of “interesting“ stuff. I recently did, and I don’t know if I should believe all of that. Make up your own opinion if you want. The other thing I find quite annoying and tiring is the fact that the panellists are constantly talking at the same time, interrupting each other. I guess it’s hard to avoid that with four hosts talking to each other over the Internet. Leo is the main host, and I think he should try to minimise this, but not only does he refrain from doing this most of the time, he is in fact the worst of the bunch himself. He can never keep his mouth shut and hardly ever gives the others the opportunity to finish a sentence. He always interrupts everybody else.

Ever been in a bar and overhead a couple of of guys moaning about their ex-wives. That's what Leo and Andy sound like. These guys have both been left behind by Apple and they're desperately trying to be relevant. No insights, very little accuracy and a lot of moaning about why Apple isn't...Read full review »

Lefty Leo strikes again. It would really be nice if the MacBreak show was less about politics. I should not be able to tell that Leo is a left wing communist. Andy is a nice guy but he belongs on a show more about tech that he can talk to his hearts desire. He goes on and on without taking a...Read full review »

Love the content of the show but please, more Alex Lindsay and less Andy Ihnatko, he has become less and less coherent over the years. Nice enough guy but he stumbles through half of what he says.
