Im really enjoying this. I like all points of views and it’s nice to hear ours (women) shared. I could do without the political references in episode 2; and I think a great point is made about cultural appropriation. In south philly we’re keeping our heritage alive despite repeated attacks by the very people that came in and gobble up our cheeses, meats, pastries and all that “quaint” stuff but mock us for saying gravy. Along with my mental health practice (heyyyyy Dr. Melfi lol), I’ve been a yoga teacher and in the ashtanga yoga community since 2007. They’re big on the concern of not appropriating Indian culture. It’s really painful to see it be ok for the Italian culture and all the slurs and mocking being allowed and encouraged here in Philly. Feels like a bit of time travel backwards. Gonna keep listening. Looking forward to it.

In a new era of rewatching, Sopranos is a must, but do yourself a favor and follow along with this podcast while you do. Drea’s and Kushnet do a perfect job blending the examination of characters, pointing out misses details, and sharing personal stories. A must listen.
