“I really wanted this to be a useful podcast, but I think it’s reinforcing too much of the toxic white guy culture that I’ve grown up with and am surrounded by too much.
In a discussion about management and leadership, the topics “diversity” and “psychological safety” came up. The guest points out that diversity, while connoting that “race and stuff are also important”, should really be about diversity of thought and experience. The host said he rolled his eyes at the mention of “psychological safety”, and then seems to criticize something very different and laments who he sees as the victims, the ones who are held accountable for being psychologically unsafe.”
