“Just listened to episode 2 and as much as you can not fault the charisma and effort of these guys, their lack of podcast skills is so palpable. You may say, well it’s their second one, and that’s right. But they are so good at videos that these podcasts can only tarnish their hard earned reputation, if left unpolished.
Just a little planning and scripting of their approach would elevate their output so much. For example, ask the question and....wait for an answer, it plays back so much better for the listener. Also listen to the answer, there’s so much more to ask if you listen and don’t rigidly jump to a tangential question you’d written down.
What a shame that their guest - who by the way was very eloquent and accommodating to their attempts - was asked things like: “Have you got a favourite quote, at all, that you like?” It threw their guest and everyone who listened - what a “shank” of a question.
There are so many awesome interview podcast hosts out there, like Adam Buxton, Stephen J. Dubner that, just like with a golf swing, they could do with studying how this is done well or get a coach.
Needs improvement.”
