This is something I was suspected I was overpaying for years however was dismissed by my accountant as something That HMRC would ‘sort out’ when I put my self assessment in.
I am exactly the doctor you describe - self employed partner who is also employed in Out of hours paid PAYE, long term locum paid PAYE, and GPWSi - all taking NIC as if were my only job.
One thing you did not cover in the podcast was self assessment returns and is this actually adjusted as my accountant suggested to take into account NIC payed PAYE from other sources or do I still pay the 9% + 2% and then have to claim it back? How far can I claim back??
