“Meg, you are BEYOND brilliant!!! Thank you so very much for what you do. I had an early menopause (why pause???) due to treatment for a highly aggressive breast cancer. In the clear now, thank god. I feel so blessed to have had currently an extra 9 years with my family, the youngest child is now 10 years old, (out of 4 kids) - we’ve had all that extra time together!!! Life is all about the wonderful memories that we make. I have had many problems since having beaten cancer, and I thought I was going mad; and any time the medical profession were involved - never was “the menopause” mentioned. It seems as if the NHS do not know about the menopause. I felt so alone and isolated. I have cried listening to your podcast, as I begin to understand it all. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do. I now know it was all the fecking menopause. Everything I was suffering was down to that. I am going to follow your guidance, go see my GP and get myself sorted, as I have had a really tough 9 years since my chemo induced menopause. I am also going to write to my oncologist (and Maggie’s - the charity that supports patients at Addenbrookes), and tell them to listen to your podcast and recommend it to other cancer patients, as all I was told, at the time of my cancer diagnosis was, “that you will go through an early menopause”. There needs to be support and information for women in this situation. I can’t thank you enough for all the information that you provide. I’m not alone anymore, and now know I’m not going mad, and feel that there is some hope for me. Bless you. XXX”
