Among the issues Fox was asked to defend were that he was a feminist theologian; he called God "Mother"; he preferred the concept of Original Blessing over Original Sin; he worked too closely with Native American spiritual practices and he did not condemn homosexuality. Matthew Fox is an internationally acclaimed theologian working in the creation spirituality tradition of Christianity.
