Guests: Mary Kissel, Leland Miller, Tony Nash Mary Kissel Mary is Executive Vice President and Senior Policy Advisor at Stephens Inc. In this role, she provides advice on geopolitical risk and macroeconomic trends to Stephens clients and the Stephens management team. From October 2018 to January 2021, Ms. Kissel served as Senior Advisor to Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo. Prior to joining the State Department, she had a long and distinguished career on The Wall Street Journal editorial board, including stints as chief foreign policy writer in New York City and Asia-Pacific editorial page editor, based in Hong Kong. She began her career at Goldman Sachs.   Leland Miller Leland is the co-founder and CEO of China Beige Book. A noted authority on China’s economy and financial system, he is a frequent commentator on media outlets such as CNBC, Bloomberg TV, CNN, and FOX Business, and he has served as guest host of two of the financial world’s top morning news shows, CNBC Squawk Box and Bloomberg Surveillance. Before co-founding China Beige Book in 2010, Leland was a capital markets attorney based out of New York and Hong Kong and worked on the deal team at a major investment bank. He holds a law degree from the University of Virginia, and a master’s degree in Chinese History from Oxford University Leland is an elected member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, an elected life member of the Council on Foreign Relations In February 2024, Leland was appointed Commissioner to the congressionally-mandated U.S.-China Economic & Security Review Commission by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson   Tony Nash Tony Nash is the CEO and Founder of Complete Intelligence. Previously, Tony built and led the global research business for The Economist and the Asia consulting business for IHS (now part of S&P). He is a frequent public speaker and a contributor to leading global media (BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg, etc.) and has served as an advisor to government and think tanks in Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, Washington D.C. and others. Tony is an international advisory board member for Texas A&M University. He has a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University and a BA in Business Management from Texas A&M University.
