Euthanasia discussion
A really important review of the issues with Dr Miguel Ricou. Some very important points for people to consider that really relate to holistic care for everyone in society. People who request hastened death require more engagement and Prof Rory O’Connor has been doing some great work around suicidal ideation. However, there was no mention of palliative care involvement for people who may not be able to engage with psychological interventions. Holistic care continues with palliative care and killing is not any part of what we do. End of life care suffers from the same lack of access to palliative care as it does with psychological services.
