Get ready for jaw drops
Sawbones mentioned MK recently, so I decided to check it out and my only regret is not finding it sooner. After only listening to a handful of episodes, I find myself looking at the world differently; I’m learning so much about the depths of the hidden racist history in our world. I find my jaw dropping in disbelief at least three times each episode. I usually have to go back and listen again to make sure I heard it correctly; this podcast has really helped broaden my middle-class, cisgender, white woman perspective. “Self-proclaimed sexy blerd” James makes an effort to puts in fact-checks at the end, which is a refreshing change from so many podcasts where the hosts speak off the cuff and rely on the listener to do their own fact-checking; I always cringe a bit with the latter model because it feeds into the spread of dis- and mis- information. Not on MK though! I’m sure my fellow librarian, and frequent returning MK cohost, Nnekay had something to do with that feature!

James and Nnekay are so bright, quick, thoughtful, and hilarious that they quickly make you realize how snoozy so many other podcasters are. You won't regret listening!Read full review »
