Dr. Kayla Renee Wheeler is an assistant professor of Critical Ethnic and Black Studies and the Africana Studies Program Director at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Dr. Wheeler shares her research and expertise in contemporary Islam and Muslim fashion.  Dr. Wheeler is currently writing a book entitled, Fashioning Black Islam, which provides a history of Black Muslim fashion in the United States from the 1930s to the present.
