Phumla Motsa is a Registered Occupational Therapist and the Founder of  Remote Ergonomics & MotsaHealth, a 100% female black-owned occupational therapy practice in Johannesburg, South Africa. With more than 15 years of consulting experience, Phumla has helped small and large South African companies and employees struggling with productivity and non-performance due to an illness or injury to optimize their contribution at work.   Her passion lies in improving the lives of ordinary people and supporting them to return to a sustainable productive life. She supports organizations with Functional Capacity Evaluations to determine whether an employee (following an injury or illness) can perform their work tasks, Case Management, providing for a smooth return to work for employees that have been off work for some time, Ergonomics workstation assessments and home office ergonomic workstation setup, as well as Speaking and Training on the fact that according to the WHO “Musculoskeletal conditions are the leading contributor to disability worldwide, with low back pain being the single leading case of disability in 160 countries”.   Phumla is also an Associate at Work-Link and an ASISA Academy Trainer.   Before starting her own business, Phumla consulted for Alexander Forbes Consultants & Actuaries Limited, a global financial services company that specialises in insurance, health, retirement, life, and other wealth and assets solutions.   Phumla holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation from the University of Pretoria, and a Diploma in Health Economics from the University of Cape Town, in South Africa.
