“The Late Edition isn’t bad, but it’s no Midori House, the previous iteration of this program format. Unlike MH, TLE isn’t very unique and is more of a rehash of the day’s programming. It also is tight when it comes to guests, having its presenters and staff offer “insight”. Often this will lead to situations where, for example, a Monocle staff member who primarily covers entertainment or food will be asked to analyze US politics. This is where the show is a bit of a waste. It has its moments though, and the eclectic global stories are often interesting.”
