Sales pitch
I have NEVER written a review but I have to. This podcast is honestly super interesting- I was a little kid when the fatal vision movie aired on tv and was captivated at the commercials (I wasn’t allowed to watch the movie) here, similarly, I get short clips of information surrounded by the creators’ self serving ads dangling “more of the story” in an FX movie AFTER the podcast ends. And the episodes only run 30 minutes. It’s exhausting to get into the story only for another commercial break or just for the episode to end. Of course, however, I’ll definitely be watching the wilderness of error :) great job Smerling a sucker was born

I was a 12 yr old when Fatal Vision came out. I was quickly enthralled with the story. I’ve always had questions about McDonald’s guilt or innocence; however, I never thought about Joe McGinnis’ role in the story. I love this different angle!

McGinniss conned a triple murderer. Big deal. MacDonald was convicted by a jury in 6 hours. He wasn’t convicted by McGinniss. There’s no mystery here. MacDonald is 100% guilty. The podcast isn’t bad. It does have some interesting info in it.
