please be more Christlike
I’ve heard you justify the snarky polemics and scoffing by referencing some OT verses, but since you are engaged in New Covenant word-ministry I would be taking most of my queues from Jesus and the NT books that give, not inferential, but explicit directions to how, not prophets commissioned by God via direct revelation, but Christian leaders in specific are required to speak to the flock and to the world. Think of Col 4:5-6, 1 Cor 13:4-7, Gal 6:1, Phil 4:5, Titus 3:2 (& 3:2-11 for that matter), Col 3:12, 1 Thes 5:14, 2 Tim 2:24, and others in the epistles - just begging you guys to distinguish yourselves in a John 13:35 sense from the secular pundits the people I shepherd imbibe almost daily - please show your listeners the Savior’s heart for people who are confused and spur them on toward love & good deeds (Heb 10:24) - and yes, if it’s a false teacher - name the dog; but there’s a healthy frank way of doing that, and there’s another way that makes people think inside “ha ha those morons, we’re the sorted bunch” ...and that, I think, is just basically how Pharisees talk. An unbelievable number of people hear your words - weighty stewardship. Anyway I love your stuff like seriously LOVE and I heard your interview with Colin Hansen where are you basically said yeah I’ve had to tone down the rhetoric because I realized it wasn’t right, and I’ve listened to your old stuff too and I remember. thinking whoa is this really Carl Truman? Lol and was so thankful to hear that - but just heard another one of your episodes on here tho and was dismayed again by the spirit of what was said (not the content, just the attitude) Btw Rise & Triumph was phenomenal imo and my wife & I have benefited from it greatly - I have also benefited from your lectures and interviews and am excited to grab whatever you publish next v/r, Tim Cole

I am not only disheartened to hear that she will no longer be a host, but thoroughly disappointed and shocked by the ungracious and unloving manner of...Read full review »

This Podcast has been an encouragement to me over the years. While some of the episodes are repetitive, they are always insightful and truly pastoral. Keep up the great work.
