At last!
I was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s 16 years ago at the age of 46. For 2 years I couldn’t talk about it without crying and still find it difficult. As a nurse I had looked after patients with Parkinson’s including Kenneth More, and thought it was an old man’s disease. However, although I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, I have done things I never would have such as do a skydive, cycle from Paris to London and raise thousands of pounds for Parkinson’s UK. I find it very refreshing to listen to other people’s coping strategies, symptoms and treatments and thank my lucky stars that I’m a cup half full person and not a miserable old git like Jeremy!
