“I love this podcast and enjoy the exchanges between the hosts and the guests as they talk about the cultural significance of movies. I was listening to back to back episodes deep into the catalog when I realized…the hosts rarely discuss movies with non-white protagonists. Of the 150+ episodes only 4 have lead characters of color, two of which are Whoopi Goldberg and one of which is Lucy Liu in an ensemble role. I in no way think the hosts should discuss movies that aren’t relevant to them. But having this disconnect hanging over every episode became a distraction to the point where it’s all I could think about while listening. Very good podcast but the “us” isn’t very inclusive. I’ve involuntarily been pulled away from the excitement I once had around it.”
