European stocks closed broadly higher on Wednesday whilst the US took a breather, with some of the big tech stocks lower on the day. Japan was the standout Asian stock market with stocks boosted by an advance in commodity companies and a slightly weaker yen. The general market focus now turns to US PPI data due out today.
