“I BARELY made it through an episode of this podcast, and that’s saying a lot because I was listening to a story about my own distant relative.
The main story teller Brianna was fine. It was Courtney’s voice and comments that were terrible, to the point of flinching at her voice because she is literally screaming half the time. Her tangents stain the podcast with arrogance and a lack of sensitivity to those suffering and overall was unnecessary to the episode.
They both flip flop back and forth between feeling bad for mentally disabled veterans who did not have support, hating them saying they belong in high security prison, and comparing them to normal people, a lot of times referencing themselves. 2x in the episode they asked one another, “How many times have you been investigated for a crime?” As they cackle together like they would have a similar relationship with the police as a transient mentally-disabled hobo in the 1970s.
Or “why would he admit he saw the kid the day he went missing?” After spending ten minutes talking about how the guy had a low IQ and major brain damage.
Overall disappointed by this podcast which could’ve been done very well with a bit less scream-shouting and skipping the tangent making fun of the mother’s letter about her dead child. looking at the other reviews I see I’m not alone in my thoughts. Please do better with your consideration of victims, the mentally disabled, and poor people in future episodes.”
