During the penalty phase Metheny addressed the jury and this is part of what he said: “The words I’m sorry will never come out for they would be a lie. I am more than willing to give up my life for what I have done, to have God judge me and send my ass to hell for eternity. There is no excuse for the things I have done to those people. I just enjoyed it. So I ask of you, please give me the f*****g death penalty”Joseph Roy Metheny was found dead in his cell on August 5, 2017, and at that point his wish for death came true.  Joe Metheny aka Tiny is now residing in the fires of hell.
