Meh
Not bad story telling, but too biased to be good journalism. Also, while the right person should certainly be jailed for the crime, it’s really, really hard to be sorry that Devonia is spending his life in prison. He choked a girl in CA at 16, beat on another girl to the point that his family needed to send him all the way across the country to get away, and then he threatened violence to the pregnant girl he probably beat on as well. To top it off, his “alibi” for the night of the murder is that he was beating in his current girlfriend? He deserves to be in prison for the rest of life anyway.

I had read several pieces by Liliana Segura before, and I know she is one of the best journalists out there. I was unfamiliar with Jordan Smith until I started listing to...Read full review »
