The podcast was engaging (even if the writing was a little overdone at times) but was disappointed that the podcast didn’t address the political/racial themes that surrounded it all - in particular what it means that her father murdered a First Nations woman and received such little jail time. Felt like the concern for the death of the woman was superficial and really showcased the narrators privileged white middle class life, while peering into the lives of those who have experienced significant violence/neglect. Also needed a trigger warning in relation to the racialised violence.
