Not worth the listen
I understand this is your story, however I don’t feel your father being a murderer has affected you as much as you’d like to believe. Unfortunately people like your brother and the victims family are the true survivors of this story. Your mother and yourself seem to have had an incredibly privileged life and you are trying to tell your story to be a saviour of sorts. Most women in your mothers position aren’t able to flee these kind of men , not because of a lack of strength but a lack of resources and support. I don’t doubt you’ve experienced some strange feelings as inter generational trauma is prevalent in many peoples life’s , and yes telling your story can help you heal from certain things. But that’s just it , you’ve been able to heal as has your mother and go on to lead a successful life. Whereas the other people of this story haven’t . This podcast is very triggering for people who haven’t been so lucky , I would not recommend in the slightest. Your higher reviews are most likely from people who have also lived a very privileged lifestyle and have no understanding of complex trauma and the true rippling affects it has on people’s lives.

Loving this story.... well done Ruby. You’re remaining very objective despite your connection to the case. And your respect and sorrow for the victim is so apparent. Amazing x

I really love this. It's so refreshing to hear women tell true crime stories and focus on the victims rather than just the perpetrator. Excellent quality writing, production and well researched to boot.Read full review »
