It’s that thing where you’re tired...
A couple of weeks ago, I was prepared to jump on here and write an unfavorable review of the show. Despite hundreds of hours of entertainment, the show has been on a decline for some time now. It’s not just the format changes, either. Karen & Georgia’s banter and attempts at humor paled in comparison to previous years. After this week’s show however, I’m here to write a 5-Star review because I’m glad they are finally taking a break. It seemed, to me anyway, that they were ready for a break of some kind before the pandemic hit. For some reason or another - perhaps to ensure ion security for their network’s employees - they continued working through the pandemic. I think back to an episode last year when Karen recalls a conversation with her sister, who chastises her for changing the shows format to one story per episode. If you listen back to that episode, and the one where they announce the format change, it’s clear in their voices that they’re trying to convince us (and maybe themselves) that it’s a good change, but all I hear is exhaustion. If they were burnt out then, I can only imagine how they feel now. I applaud them for taking a break and I hope that when they come back, in whatever form, that they feel refreshed, reinvigorated, and inspired. But who knows, people change in 5 years. DISCLAIMER: I want to point out that I’m not a member of the MFM Fan Cult, so I can’t speak to the content (or lack thereof) that is supposed to be a perk of having a paid membership. My POV is solely one of someone who has listened to this show, for free, for several years.

I can't believe how much I enjoy listening to the accounts of gruesome murders. I feel like everyone I tell about this podcast looks at me in fear and concern but IT'S SO GOOD!Read full review »

The hosts are fatuous, shallow, morbid, witty, articulate, foul-mouthed, gentle, probably high and totally delightful. This isn't a true crime podcast as such -- it's more like two friends celebrating their fascination with the genre, gossiping, getting sidetracked, and pouring over the...Read full review »

The premise was great…I made it through 15-20 minutes of the first show. It sounded like a couple of middle school girls talking about what they watched on TV. The first “story” was about a traffic accident, not a murder. I fast forwarded to the second show but it was more of the same inane...Read full review »
