06. Dominic Corry - My Movie DNA
Listen now
Description
In episode six, Johnny talks to Dominic Corry, one of New Zealand’s leading film journalists. Dom is the film critic for the New Zealand Herald, editor-at-large for Letterboxd and regularly contributes to Flicks and Radio New Zealand, among other places. This conversation was recorded face-to-face in early November of 2022. We talk about the experience of growing up as a film nerd in New Zealand, discuss the works of Hitchcock, Verhoeven, and De Palma, and we ask the question of where comic book movies might go to from here. A collection of Dom’s thoughts on film - a Corry omnibus, if you will - can be found on his website thegoodinmovies.com, and you can give him a follow on Twitter @DominicCorry. Many thanks to James Van As who wrote and performed the brilliant music, and to Willow Van As who designed the amazing artwork and provided general podcast support.
