Isolation 9

Description
In this episode I chat with Grace Rattigan, Patient Rep with Cervical Check here in Ireland. Grace sadly lost her Mother Catherine, to cervical cancer on April 11th 2012 at the tender age of 47. Compounding her grief a few years later after a 2014 Audit into Cervical Check, Grace and her family learned that abnormalities in her Mothers screening were missed. Due to her experience as a family member after learning of the HSE's mishandling of her Mums case Grace decided to be a voice for Catherine and people all over this island and become a patient rep with Cervical Check using her strength and her advocacy to change things for all of us. What a woman Grace is. She has intelligence and fortitude and I was deeply moved hearing about her Mum and her journey though loss and pain to advocacy and purpose and I know you will too. This is the last episode in my Isolation Series. Thank you for keeping me company through some very challenging times for us all. Special mention to my producer Jay Woodward. Without him none of these episodes would have made it to air. Season 3 will be back in soon. I am increasingly aware of the need for diversity across all platforms and My Yellow Couch will be striving to do better. Have a lovely summer. Stay safe and enjoy this episode.
