“The Cleveland Browns won the 2020 NFL draft because they addressed the need to protect Baker Mayfield with picking Jedrick Wills 10th overall. With the addition of Wills, Mayfield can now survey the field inside the pocket more often than he did last year. This will especially come in handy for newly acquired TE Austin Hooper because Mayfield can now have more time seeing the middle of the field instead of scrambling towards the sidelines and making off target throws. You don’t make Hooper the highest paid TE in football and don’t utilize him. In addition, Wills will help out Kevin Stefanski’s run centric offense involving Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. I also like their second round pick in safety Grant Delpit out of LSU. Jamal Adams, Eric Reid, and Tyrann Mathieu were all safeties coming out of LSU and playing in the SEC alongside playing in the national championship game has allowed Delpit to see top notch competition (Ruggs, Jeudy, Lamb, Higgins). And no I’m not a Cleveland Browns fan I’m just looking at this from an outside perspective and I do believe they will be making the playoffs in 2020.
Jonathan Taylor was the biggest steal of the 2020 draft. I understand teams should be cautious of taking RB’s early in the draft because they are replaceable but I think Taylor in the second round is great value. Beginning as a freshman at Wisconsin all this guy did was produce and oh yeah he runs a 4.39 40 at 227 lbs. He won’t see as many touches his rookie year with Marlon Mack still in the picture but when Taylor becomes their workhorse back behind that great Indianapolis oline, watch out”
