“Listened to your podcast about Billie Jean Phillips. You really should read the book by David Mac “ When Money Grew on Trees”.
It will add more to the story of Booger County. My parents lived in Huntsville for many years. My stepdad was one of the Doctors in the community and the stories are crazy. David Mac committed suicide in Walmart and Ralph Baker died mysteriously by the river.
The book will give you a lot to talk about.
Side note- the Mary Jane that came from booger county was the best I ever had and the book will let you know what the 1400 acres was for.
I’m shocked that nobody has ever realized how fascinating a story it is. It would give Ozark (Netflix) a run for best series. Billy Bob Thornton would make an excellent Ralph Baker.
