“My biggest complaint about the episodes was that the instructor seemed disorganized and repetitive. She talks about the same gods, over and over again, and giving you the same information about them again and again. How many times does she need to tell you that Apollo is the most human of the gods?
The instructor is so excited about the subject that it feels like she is being condescending to the people in the class, and therefore the listeners of these episodes. I definitely felt like I was stupid listening to her discuss the gods, and I know the stories she is referring to.
And the quality of the audio is not the best either. Each episode was taped during a lecture, and the microphone is near the instructor and she repeatedly is asking the class questions and since there is no microphone near where they are, you cannot hear them, and she often doesn't repeat everything they have said. And there are some distortions in the audio as well, preventing the listener from hearing everything in them.
If you don't mind the distortions, the repitition or the fact she makes you feel a little dumb, this might be a good place to start. But I wouldn't even recommend that. There are better places to get information about Greek mythology.”
