The voice that reignited my love of poetry
I loved poetry as a teenager, adored the analysis demanded by the education system but when I left the love stayed there. Part of the my childhood. Left behind. Then my 40’s started and a random IG story introduced me to Atticus. I followed, then followed here to the podcast, then bought his latest book, which I spammed photos of to my friends, heavily annotated. To which an American friend sourced and sent me a signed copy of my already beloved book, that lived on my bedside table. In a world of short 140 character quotes, pithy throw away remarks that mean nothing, Atticus in his minimal writing, provoked, forced me to think, re evaluate and love. There are very few writers that have touched me so deeply, and did I mention his voice? The voice that personifies cashmere? Try it. You will not regret it
