Description
Blake Treinen was shaky again, and he was ultimately lifted after walking in a run after loading the bases in the ninth, but the Washington Nationals hung on for a 3-1 win over the Braves in the series opener in Atlanta, GA's SunTrust Park. Max Scherzer put together another impressive start, throwing 7.0 scoreless on 116 pitches, and after Treinen faltered, Shawn Kelley came on to close out the Nats' eighth curly-W of the 2017 campaign. Two more with Atlanta to come... Nationals now 8-5.
