In an error, hit, and run-filled affair in the nation’s capital, the Washington Nationals outlasted the St. Louis Cardinals and fought their way to a 14-6 win. The two teams combined for 20 runs, 29 hits, and five errors in the series opener of the three-game set in D.C. It took 3 hr 47 minutes to wrap this one up, but the Nats came out on top in the end, bringing an end to a two-game slide and improving to 4-3 on the season with the win.
