Best Independent UK Boxing Podcast
This is the best independent podcast out there for British Boxing, Terry, Martin and Andy give some great insights and opinions on all that is going on the British and world boxing scenes. They are not afraid to voice their opinions and often come up with interesting theories on topics such as PED use in boxing and the promotional/managerial side of the business. The input from Andy (casual boxing fan) often works well, as he is more aligned to how most of the listeners would be thinking. Terry’s knowledge of the game is astounding at times, I don’t always agree with his opinions, but I have to respect thoughts coming from a guy clearly has had many years of experience at all levels of the sport. Some of the criticism directed towards people on the podcast is very juvenile, it smacks of school-yard bully stuff, come on guys you are better than that. I enjoy the unbiased and unfiltered element to this podcast, but there is no need to lower yourselves to the level of insults that you often do, I am thinking of the criticism directly towards Joe Gallagher and Michelle Joy Phelps especially. Please keep telling it how it is, I enjoy hearing about people in the industry who are imposters or who are taking advantage of others, just keep the criticism on an acceptable level. I enjoy the weeks when all 3 of the hosts (Andy, Martin and Terry) are on, can I suggest if one of you is not going to be there for a week, then this is the time to get a guest on, you have had some boxers on in the past and they have given interesting insights. I like to hear your different opinions on fights, sometimes Martin and Terry will have very different views on a contest and the banter that follows can be very interesting and amusing. Special guests (normally boxers) who come on should be given a list of fights to view before they come on so they can give their opinions. The podcast should try and get guests on who can give an insight into an upcoming fight, for example find a boxer who has sparred one or both of the fighters in a high profile upcoming bout. Finally, I would like to see the time of the podcast cut down, I often find myself struggling to listen to the full 1.5 to 2 hours. Around one hour seems the ideal length to me, if you are looking to areas that could be cut down, you could talk less about speculation on upcoming fights and cut down on the number of listeners questions you answer. The three key areas of the podcast for me should be 1. Reviews of fights, 2. Previews of upcoming fights, 3. General industry talk, this would include guests, etc. Keep up the great work and keep telling it how it is.

At that time I was used to the discussion and fence sitting opinions of other boxing podcasts connected to well known TV platforms. I didn’t know how to take some of the content...Read full review »
