Factual, until it’s about some specific topics
Poignant and intelligent analysis on some issues, but then obviously intentional “misunderstandings” of other issues that make actual factual discourse impossible. This is especially regarding the arguments of other people in those very specific topics - aka the straw man fallacy: pretending that someone is arguing for something other than what they’re actually saying, and then attacking that made-up “statement” of the other person. He does this very obviously for just some specific topics, especially when talking about women; while he gives sources and give word-for-word recaps on other people’s arguments, he follows quotes by women with things like “so what she’s saying is actually this” and then a straw man. Like when he cites a quote in a paper which was something like “if women who have been sexually assaulted realise that they aren’t alone, then they can support each other and make a bigger difference when it comes to the discussion on sexual violence” and then immediately follows up with “so, what she’s saying is that all women need to realise that they are a homogenous group and that they have all actually been raped”. And it is really a shame that he does this so blatantly regarding some specific topics, because there are a lot of problems within for example different feminist movements that he could mention and deconstruct and argue against, if he didn’t decide to throw much of his intellectual integrity on out the window whenever a woman says something against a man and construct ludicrous straw men instead. Dude, just keep to your usual high standard and argue against what someone actually said; there’s a lot of intelligent discourse to be had there and there’s no need to pretend that what someone says (cited verbatim) means something completely different (straw man). It’s obvious he does it out of distaste, because he’s not stupid, and he doesn’t intentionally misinterpret statements regarding many other issues - so he clearly has no problem with understanding what other people are saying. He’s just intentionally choosing to misrepresent the opinions of some of them.
