You are not wrong
As a fan of Star Wars, I am sometimes forgetful that it has not existed for all times to all people. It was great to hear Lauren Lapkus and Nicole Byer respond to the movie (soon to be more movies) with new eyes and minds that aren’t saddled with nostalgia and four decades of expectations. Like the hosts of the Bechdelcasts, they bring perspectives that I don’t have, and because they are funny people, I get to enjoy all their comments, positive and negative. I also want to commend their first guest, John Gemberling, who might have been the best possible kind of Star Wars fan to have around and talk our hosts down the ledge when everything seems bonkers, and none of the meme-worthy lines and characters show up yet. I can’t wait for more episodes. May the Force be with you.

Never watched or had the desire to watch or be a part of the SW universe. Feels like it just passed me by. The opportunity to experience it with voices that are closer to my own, instead of the ones the were culturally the loudest, is a GD GIFT. All in on this series.

I’m so happy they decided to do this podcast because it’s EXACTLY how I felt when I went on my first full attempt to watch all of the movies in preparation to see the last one with my boyfriend who’s a huge Star Wars fan. I wish I had this then but so happy I have it now!! Thanks Nicole and Lauren!

I love Star Wars and I love this podcast possibly even more. Listening to these funny ladies talk about these movies makes me so happy. There was a reason that these films were cult classics before they main stream and the commentary really hits the nail on the head. Can’t wait for the rest!
