“Not sure why the star rating is so low (3.5 at the time of writing) but it’s a great series. Mix of history, architecture, politics, and design and well presented with experts and historical context. Avery has worked at 99% Invisible for years and takes that tone and expertise over to this topic for a satisfying dive into some of these failed utopias.
Many of the lower reviews seem to be from people lacking historical context/knowledge or folks who take issue with the host and network. By the volume of them I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a group brigading to give the show a low rating. Don’t let them affect your decision to give the show a listen, you won’t be disappointed.”
