In this episode, the history of the Fulani is explored. It traces the story of the nomadic peoples from their place of origin to Nigeria. And these nomadic peoples had splintered into the marauding hordes and the aristocratic groups seen across West Africa, but particularly Nigeria. How did the shy cattle herders of Nigeria become the notorious horde it has become today? Experts have said the diminishing natural resources made scarce by changes in the environment is responsible. Others have alluded to the desire for domination and jihadist pursuit of the 18th and 19th centuries might well still be alive with us in the 21st century.
