“I’m unsubscribing specifically because listening to Rob “Stats” Guerrera, who features prominently across the channel, is a waste of mental effort and time.
He spends his airtime spinning out hot takes, both positive and negative, that are invariably unreasonable because of how extreme they are. Moreover, the direction of those takes seems to have more to do with the narrative he has decided is correct than with any actual development in the stories he is commenting on. This guy is the embodiment of what is wrong with echo-chamber journalism. He seems to only be able to speak in terms of something being the best ever or complete trash. He tries to get listeners, not through the strength of his analysis, but through the aggressive, controversy-inducing way in which he states it. That doesn’t educate, inform, or elucidate. It just ruffles feathers, and I’m sick of having to think “jeez, be reasonable, man,” even when I agree with the general thrust of what he’s saying.
Really, it’s all the more disappointing because it seems like that is a deliberate choice on his part. He comes across as intelligent enough to know exactly what he is doing, but he does it anyway.”
