“Long story short, im a chicano and ive wanted to learn spanish for a long time, but i was raised in a very white area and i was never exposed to the language. My first semester of college (last semester) the guy who ended up being my roomate was from Mexico. Me and him hit it off and he inspired me to finally learn spanish. While on winter break, i have been listening to this podcast around 4-6 hours a day (and studying hundreds of notecards obviously) and i have gone from not understanding anything to understanding 70% of what they talk about. Its crazy how fast you pick up on it when you hear it from real speakers of the language and not some book.”
