Taking my Spanish skills to the next level
I have been binge-listening to this excellent podcast all week. It is providing me with something I’ve been missing— real-life, natural conversations that introduce or clarify elements of Mexican Spanish and culture that may be difficult or unclear for learners. Héctor and Beto are so enjoyable to listen to, making it a pleasure rather than a chore to improve my Spanish. Topics are interesting and at just the right level for my comprehension— they usually stick to Spanish when explaining a concept but occasionally use English to clarify when needed. Not only have I learned many new words including commonly used Mexican idioms or slang terms, but I also have a much better idea of the typical usage of many elements of Spanish. For example, the most recent episode made me realize that I’ve been way over-using the Usted form! I’ll dial that down! Gracias, Beto y Héctor!

They use examples that make what...Read full review »
