In addition to being the creator, co-writer and star behind HBO's "Insecure," she's also a bestselling author and has a popular YouTube channel garnering millions of views. After graduating from Stanford in 2007, she received a theater fellowship at The Public Theater and then worked odd jobs between business school and law school until her web series "The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl" went viral. Funded through Kickstarter, the web series went on to win the Shorty Award for Best Web Show in 2013. Issa discusses her journey to "Insecure" and how her determination helped her land a show on HBO.
