Whoa
An incredible series, all the more astonishing that it’s produced almost entirely by one person (and in a consultative manner with all of the marginalised subjects of its storytelling). A rare opportunity to hear directly and at length from people who inject drugs – many of whom may also be read by strangers as being poor, unhoused and jobless, though the reality is that many are none of these things. I really hope that listeners will be moved to treat these people with respect, kindness and patience, and to support social measures that present them with opportunities to live well, more safely and in better health. One such measure may, by the sounds of it, be the MSIR. While it’s based in Melbourne, this podcast is relevant to people everywhere. Maybe you’ll hear yourself or a loved one in these stories too. Essential listening!

Sensitivity made, instructive and inspiring. Love the description of workers as angels. The soundscape is carefully composed and mixed too. Joy to listen to.
