Season 3 is so disappointing
I absolutely loved the first two seasons of this show and recommended it to literally everyone I know. This season has been such a stark departure from previous season that I’m honestly just pretty confused. The stories are just not good. A friend described them as “5 minute stories drawn out over an hour” and she was right. Where are the twists? Where is the juiciness? It’s a show about gossip that refuses to really gossip anymore. I’m not sure if they just don’t have as many stories to choose from (meaning that the ones chosen are the best) or if they have a lot to choose from and these stories are the ones they’re choosing. Either way, I hope they go back to whatever they were doing before. The intros were never my favorite part but this season they’re just awful. They’re way too long and all their commentary is essentially the same. “Gossip is a way to disrupt power.” And like, of course that’s true but if the show is gonna go there, I wish we could get a little more nuanced. Or more lighthearted! Gossip is a way of disrupting power and that’s one reason why it’s stigmatized, but also I don’t think we need to defend gossip. It’s okay to just enjoy it. It’s a very human thing. The constant (and nearly identical) hot takes just get so tedious. And now they’re 20 minutes long on top of that. Like the title says, I’m just disappointed. I know this show (or any show for that matter) requires a lot of labor to work and I respect that. I just can’t help but hope that the host and producer can accept some of the (very valid and mostly constructive) criticism and come back with a better show next season.

In this episode there are 2 women laughing and giggling nonstop. I don’t know if anything else ever happened because I quit halfway through.

Please, please retire the word “right?” The host says it after every other sentence. You must stop.
