Arif is an extremely impressive analyst of football performance and always worth listening to. The show suffers, however, from giving the false impression that it’s imperative to assert an opinion even if it’s based on very little. The litmus test here is, trivially, almost every week when the topic of food comes up, and significantly when asked whether the Beatles are “over-rated,” Arif said “yea, but they’re good.” “Good?” Why don’t you just say you’re out of your depths and your listeners should ask someone who knows something about music history?
